MY MOM WORKED ALOT AND I HARDLY SAW HER MUCH

MOM WORKED AT "MARONE'S RESTURANT", MAC'S ANOTHER RESTAURANT AND OTHER PLACES WHERE SHE WAS A COOK.

ONCE IN A GREAT WHILE WE WENT TO UNCLE JIM AND AUNT GERTIE WHERE WE PLAYED IN A BIG BARN AND SAW ANIMALS

 BUMP AND I WENT TO SOCK HOPS TOGETHER AT THE ADAM  COLOSSEUM, WHERE WE WERE ALWAYS THE COOLEST DANCERS ON THE FLOOR

WHEN WE GO BACK TO INDIANA I ALWAYS GO TO GET  'CHARLIE'S CANDY CORN' 

THE SHOP HAS BEEN THERE FOREVER,SINCE 1955,,,,STOP THERE EVEY TIME WE GO TO VINCENNES.

              SARAH'S CELEBRATION OF LIFE.....

WENT TO INDIANA LAST WEEK FOR A FAMILY GET TOGETHER TO CELEBRATE SARAH.

HERE IS HER PICTURE----WILL MISS HER SO VERY VERY MUCH, SHE HELPED ME WITH MANY THINGS IN MY LIFETIME!

AT THE CELEBRATION OF SARAH'S LIFE I WAS ALL SET TO TELL HOW SARAH HAD BEEN A BIG PART OF MY LIFE BUT THIS CROWD THAT CAME DIDN'T EVEN HAVE PEOPLE STAND AND SAY ANYTHING,  OR TALK ABOUT HOW SARAH  WAS A PART OF THEIR LIVES. I  WAS DISAPOINTED AND IT DIDN'T REALLY SEEM LIKE A SERVICE AT ALL.  I SET DOWN WITH KIM SARAH'S DAUGHTER AND TOLD HER WHAT ALL SARAH HAD HELPED ME WITH AND  WHAT I HAD PLANNED TO SAY BUT SINCE THEY DIDN'T DO THAT I WILL PUT IT IN MY  BLOG!

1. FIRST I WANTED TO QUIT SCHOOL/ HIGH SCHOOL  CAUSE I JUST DID NOT FIT IN AND SHE TALKED TO ME AND TOLD ME PLEASE DON'T! I REALLY WANTED TO BUT  SHE TALKED ME INTO HANGING IN THERE!

  2.  SARAH HELPED ME WHEN I BECAME A YOUNG LADY ....BUMP AND I HAD                            GONE TO A MOVIE AND I WENT TOTHE BATHROOM AND GOT SHOCKED!  TOLD BUMP AND HE SAID I SHOULD GO GET SARAH WHO WOKDED AT MAC'S 

A RESTURANT TWO BLOCKS FROM THE  "NEW MOON THEATER"  SHE SAID COME WITH ME, SHE FIXED  ME UP AND SAID NOW GO BACK AND ENJOY THE MOVIE, THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN  EVERY MONTH. GUESS SHE TOLD ME A LITTLE ABOUT THE BIRDS AND BEES THAT DAY!     

                3. AS A YOUNG MARRIED GAL SHE TAUGHT ME ALOT ABOUT COOKING AND HANDED ME SOME OF HER RECIPES.

                4.SHE MADE ME MY FIRST BABY  BLANKET FOR LESLIE WHEN SHE WAS BORN

                      IT WAS SOOO PRETTY , ROUND AND PINK.

                5. SARAH ASK ME IN MY SENIOR YEAR TO COME TO HER HOUSE FOR A COOKOUT. I HESITATED , SHE WANTED ME TO MEET THIS  REALLY NICE KID.  WELL I WASN'T SURE BUT I FINALLY GAVE IN. TODAY THAT REALLY NICE KID IS NOW MY HUSBAND OF 65 YEARS , HE IS THE LOVE OF MY LIFE!

                        We get life with absolutely no  promises.   

From that moment in 2003 I have not wasted one second of my life fretting about dying.  My moments of all my days are spent living. Brain cancer made me a better man. It is making me a better man. So why do I say this?  We all will have good days and bad days in life.  Sometimes life gives you a fortune, and other times it will rip you like a brick across the face.  What happens to you will happen and  you only have only  two ways to respond....you can be positive , or you can be negative and miserable.  That's the choice. The good news is that the choice is always up to you. That's it!   the good news is that the choice is always up to us.  We choose how we will be every day of our life, no matter what we have to choose. 

Make the decision today to live, to be positive, not negative.  Don't endure a tragedy such as mine is to figure it out..  Live every day , live every minute, live every second of your life!!

FUNNY STUFF

 

  HAVE TO TELL YOU A COUPLE FUNNY THINGS THAT HAPPENED THAT JUST CRACKED ME UP.

IN RELIEF SOCIETY AT CHURCH ONE SUNDAY AFTERNOON SOME TIME AGO THAT  CRACKED DONNA AND I UP!  FAITH  A FRIEND  AT CHURCH WAS SETTING THERE AND I THINK  THE TEACHER MUST HAVE BEEN LOOKING IN HER DIRECTION WHEN SAYING SOMETHING AND FAITH JUST KINDA BLURED OUT LOUDLY IN HER FUNNY LOUD VOICE " YOU TALKING TO ME"  I  COULD HARDLY HOLD MY LAUGH IN.  

WE NEARLY DIED LAUGHING.  IT WAS THE  FUNNEST  THING I EVER HEARD SAID IN  A CLASS AT CHURCH. 😊HAHA!  YOU WOULD HAVE HAD TO BEEN THERE TO SEE IT.

Another funny thing that cracked me and Donna up was the time  we went into a card shop and saw 

this card  that said " When you die can I have your stuff!!😄I think we have never laughed so hard as we did that day unless it was hearing Faith the lady say what she did in our classroom.

TRIALS

SO WHY DO WE HAVE TRIALS?   I HAVE ASK MYSELF THIS SO VERY MANY MANY TIMES AND STILL THINK AND H AVE  SAID MANY TIMES.....            

                   WHY ME??  

I have done nothing to deserve this....have had this thought so many times....

..I have felt that my test are too big and not at all fair. I fall back into self pity and then i see children that can't do much of anything and i keep looking at people around me who have one thing or another wrong with them and will never know what a normal life is like.  All will be tested and it will test our faith as well.   These test hurt and are inevitable and unexpected , they test us for sure and that test will refine our character , our perseverance and yes we will have pain and grief  and say why me!!!  All the stuff we go   through will make or break us.  We can take it and either get hard  or maybe soft towards life 

and people.  So think about where you stand today with all your trials, do you still love life , love people, and most of all do you still feel life is good or has it made you hard or has it made you more humble?   You are not alone they say but when its hard and you feel that the only one you can talk to is God, do it! Hopefully we all can find peace... And one day we will get our answer to that very big question.....WHY ME?

FASTING

 THE OTHER NIGHT DONNA AND I  WERE TALKING ABOUT WHAT FASTING CAN DO.  I HAD  REMEMBERED THAT ANGIE SOMETIME AFTER SHE WAS BORN HAD A BIRTHMARK ON HER RIGHT CHEEK AND I ASK THE DR. ABOUT IT, HE TOLD ME  IT WOULD GET AS BIG AS A HALF DOLLAR COIN.... I CRIED BECAUSE I HAD GROWN UP WITH A SCAR UNDER MY RIGHT EYE AND HATED LOOKING LIKE THAT AND BEING MADE FUN OF WHEN YOUNGER AT SCHOOL. ANYWAY I DECIDED I WOULD FAST AND NOT EAT FOR AS LONG  AS IT TOOK  FOR GOD TO HEAR AND ANSWER MY PRAYER. I FASTED THREE DAYS AND FINALLY DECIDED  TO STOP AND HOPE THAT WOULD DO IT!  WELL IT WORKED AND TODAY SHE HAS NO BIRTHMARK.  YES,  HE HEARD MY PLEAD.  I AM  THANKFUL AND I KNOW THAT HE DOES ANSWER IF WE ARE WILLING TO DO OUR PART.  💖

 Things the kids did when  younger....

Val was bouncing a basketball in family room and sent the ball into Dad's TV that he had bought from a employee at Repco  for $75 dollars.  He took it not so bad. 

Angie was playing around in playhouse and pushed Russell out the window where there was picket

 fence below and he could have been seriously hurt. Scary!

The kids played down in a big underground sewer and I thought when told  about it I said,
"not my kids." ugh! 

Dad put up a transparent drawing of Batman & Robin, Wonder Woman and Superman on our family room wall  and he brew them up Big and let the kids paint them.  It was the coolest!!  what a great dad, wonder if he has a picture of it?
