Gift of Time

Today I write on the subject of  time

and think about just how much time do I have left?

I am  thinking this is the winding down years of dad and mine and its sad that we don't have all our children near so could spend time with them and the grandchildren. Now you  may be reading this after we have passed on so you may not realize how important the gift of time is until its near over.  We don't give much thought to TIME but always wanting so much more of it!!  Just read these thoughts

                                                                           Time

Time is a precious gift and how we spend it is up to you and me. Some of our time is cut short leaving others to hurt while others our filled to the very top. We know no  time limit .....we are in the dark as to how we will spend it....or when our time will  run out....as with a bank account we know and see the amount spent and what we have left ... thus we plan our expenditures and able to save for that rainy day in effect.

With life there is no way to know what is left .....Some would say thats good, others not so sure. We have been lucky thus far with theh  Time God so generously gives us....when young you may have felt you wasted some time but now older you want to spend it wisely.

We all spend our days different, we have bedtime, summertime' worktime, traveltimes , funtimes and on and on .

Thank you for spending some of your precious gift of time reading my blog....💓

Saying's of the family.....

We all say things mostly out of habit:

Bump....You say something and he will say ".Exactly"

Joe.....I don't want people telling  me how to live my life and I don't tell others how to live theirs.

Sarah .....calls everyone "Sweetie."

Donna....

Dad.....

Staying Focused

Lesson in church today was one that everyone needs to hear.

It was all about being distracted by all that goes on in the world.

It really does happen!     So try to focus on the good as much as you can.

Life will always have stuff out there that fight for our attention,

The thing is to focus on all that is good.... there will always be good and bad pulling to get our attention!  Stay focused!!

Donna and Dottie 20th Century Pioneers

I call  us that because on our trip to Indiana we felt that way, ha!  Going down Pennyrail Parkway it felt like a new way and we felt we were in the Twilight Zone...,it was so  dark and such a long road. Yikes!  But we were laughing.    After making this trip we were so  tired and finally got to Vincennes and the first place we stopped at they had one bed and it was 200 dollars so we decided to look farther. another was full.  So we went to different area but the location was hard to get  to and we made a couple turns and then saw a red light behind us.  The Officer was very nice and we told him we had just got here and was looking for a hotel  and he said you ladies don't want to stay there cause we been called there alot over problems but across street is a better one he said. He said follow me  and we said thanks and he took us across street  to nicer place. He left us and Donna went inside and they said they were full. Uge!  So we ask the boy if we could just park in the parking lot and get some shut eye, he said sure and even gave us a extra pillow cause I bought  mine but Donna needed one. We slept in car and when woke Donna went back inside to use the bathroom and he said breakfast was over and we could help ourselves to what was left in containers cause they just throw it away anyway. He was sooo sweet and had a nice smile and so after we ate we headed over to Joe's . Details of trip ......

Another Book called "Life is Messy"

 some quotes from this book....

                           enjoyed reading it!!

Beware of things you see when meeting someone..., when you see signs or red flags don't ignore them . People are constantly trying to tell you about who they are by their actions.

Life is messy ...not for some people but for everyone in their own way. People don't walk around with a sign around their neck that announces what they are struggling with. Example......

I'm depressed

Yesterday I had a miscarriage

I lost my job

My husband told me he doesn't love me anymore

I want to break off my engagement

My son or daughter won't talk to me

I just found out I have cancer

I don't know now what to do with my life

We ABANDON humanity if we don't try to understand that  everyones struggling with something  and when we are mindful of this we are gentle

Remember.......everyone is fighting a hard battle!!

BE KIND CAUSE.... LIFE IS MESSY!!

Stress, unhappiness, anxiety and depression are not bad things.  They are not human malfunctions. Quite the opposite, they are proof that everything is working as it should. They come to us as messengers to tap us on the shoulder and point out that our lives have slipped out of alignment. and

that we are most fully human , fully alive and that the  misalignment needs fixed , so take and admit it  then move your heart and get back to where you need to be...re- align your.life ..its short...remember,...you matter...you are loved...you are of great value!  Just don't forget...yes life will get messy at times... but you can handle it!!

My song to play oneday at my funeral.... dedicated to Joey....GOODBYE

GOODBY

I wanted you for life, you and me in the wind
I never thought there'd come a time that our story would end
It's hard to understand but I guess I'll have to try
It's not easy to say goodbye
For all the joy we share, all that time we had to spend
Now if I had one wish, I'd want forever back again
To look into your eyes and hold you when you cry
It's not easy to say goodbye
I remember all those great time we had
So many memories, some good, some bad
Yes and through it all, those memories will last forever
There's peace in where you are, maybe thats all I need to know
And if I listen to my heart, I'll hear your laughter once more
And so I have to say I'm just glad you came my way
It's not easy to say goodbye...

..... pull it up guys cause its so sweet!
Made me cry...by Lionel Richie

Love this song!!💖

Dad ....the problem solver

Five key problem solving skills for professionals – Transport Futures Institute This is Dad...he told me he is a problem solver.....and most all his life he has been a problem solver.  As far back as I can remember most all the jobs he ever had required that he find the problem and fix it!!.  That was dad!

It really has come in handy for the most part, repairing things around the house without having to call a repair man .  But once in awhile it gets to be too much and he had to hire someone else but hardly ever!   More than not I would think , you got this Joey!ha!

A Great Movie/The Yearlin

Quotes from the movie....this movie will tug at your heart.

Words said as the father was trying to comfort his son......

“You've seen how things goes in the world of men. You've knowed men to be low-down and mean. You've seen O Death at his tricks...Ever man wants life to be a fine thing, and easy. 'Tis fine, boy, powerful fine, but 'tain't easy. Life knocks a man down and he gets up and it knocks him down again. I've been uneasy all my life...I've wanted life to be easy for you. Easier than was for me. A man's heart aches, seein' his younguns face the world. Knowin' they got to get their guts tore out, the way his was tore. I wanted to spare you, long as I could. I wanted you to frolic with your yearlin'. I knowed the lonesomeness he eased for you. But ever' man's lonesome. What's he to do then? What's he to do when he gets knocked down? Why, take it for his share and go on. Jeanne Bice creator of the Quacker Factory

Ok I never heard of this lady before until I picked up her book at a thrift store I believe and this book just took me back to the early 60's  when life was so different then. Back when I was young and  was a newly bride. I just had to blog some of what she said and wrote.  This lady is not a beauty queen by far but a out spoken lady much like Jean Clark who Bump and I spent much time at her home. Back when we were kids   Bump and I spent much of our childhood listening to Jean Clarks jokes and her making us laugh when we didn't actually have much to laugh about back then.  This lady said " I loved playing house as a  young girl, I think I learned how to be a housewife from those early days "  I sure can relate to that myself.

Her horoscope is Cancer as is mine...she says we are the ultimate nesters,we look at a room and think of all the possibilities we can do with it...She talks of the fun she had at her Aunt and Uncles home while Bump and I remember the fun we had out at my brother Roscoe's place, vines to swing on and games to play , hide and seek in the corn field , just great times!  I really love all the fun that Bump and I had .....its my best memories. We raised ourselves she says in the book and so did Bump and I , ...today we have a closeness.

Her father told her ( keep your nose to the grindstone ,work very hard, struggle and  you'll be a success.)

...Our dad , well not sure any of us kids looked up to him.   Dad was not one to help you feel good..... only said if having a hard time,  use your noggin and would tap me on the head....I hated that!   This lady talks about the importance of having friends, I believe in those days it was great to have girlfriends .....she joined a women's club, learned to play bridge and they talked about everything and laughed out loud and would interrupt each other laughing while having a good time.....me and my friend Betty pretty much did same thing and wow did we ever have so much fun together!

Love this quote from this book.~~~~~~

"We got married in 1959..a perfect time to be alive. You knew your life would be better than your parents and you just knew you would succeed. I think we were the last generation that was allowed to be fat or thin, to be pretty or ugly, geeky or a cheerleader.  We were still a generation who got married first and then lived together..We were the last generation so dumb to think you needed a husband to have a baby. Life was perfect and I was perfect at it."  Butch was the perfect man for me...Marriage was absolutely the perfect place for Jeanne Bice.  In 1981 it was just another perfect day in our lives....after lunch Butch headed to the store and would return home before heading to work. As he turned and gave me a kiss and said he loved me he then turned to leave ....right there and then he dropped dead at my feet, ....no warning. After some time had passed , I now feel that life prepares you for times like this. ...Sometimes life is so hard it becomes difficult to believe that it can ever get better.  But it can!"

For sure this took me back as I read the book.  Much like this lady we were little housewives who  stayed home with the children ....life was good then and I remember Betty my friend and I getting together after the guys left for work and having fun going to parks with kids , cooking together and watching "As the World Turns"  it was all such  fun!  Yes, its true while we are living each day and making plans for tomorrow our lives can change in a instant without a warning as this happened to this lady Jeanne!! Few years later my friend Betty's husband died... He was not very old, Betty went on to marry again.  Life can change ....we really never know what tomorrow will bring.

Loved loved this book / this was life in the Sixies.

Dew on the Hunt

I  hear this loud chirping and go into my bedroom and Dew has this bird in his mouth and i say NO DEW and he dropped it and had it cornered in the closet .  I threw a cover around the bird and picked it up.  Didn't know what to do with it.  Mama bird wasn't around making noise or looking for her lost baby.

Didn't want cats to kill it so kept it over night in box with holes so it could breath then next morning I took it to  Trout Lake and ask lady if she would take it and she said put it back in a bush at your place but I said can't cause the cat would kill it, being it can't fly.  Well she finally said ok and took pity on me and said ok I will take it . Sooo relieved and told  her it was likely hungry cause had it all evening.  Be happy little guy and sorry if you miss your mama.😟Dew

Epic Year

We have in our hands the story of the beginning of humankind—our story as covenant Christians. Because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, we know how this epic journey will end. Satan will be destroyed, and the righteous will be victorious. But how will our individual story unfold?

Will we choose to walk with Jesus Christ this year? Will we plead with Him to stay with us, eagerly listening to what He teaches ?

He is our loving, personal Savior whose voice we hear in the Doctrine and Covenants, whose life is recorded in the New Testament, and whose teachings are plainly taught in the Book of Mormon. With a little practice, we will be able to find His ministry woven throughout the pages of the Old Testament as well. He is central to humanity’s past, present, and future. He has been—and always will be—beside us every step of the way.
