Making a Quilt

Well for about four days i been working on making this quilt.  Started out with a lady at church who was willing to help me. I really did appreciate Sister Fisher taking the time out of her busy schedule to help me get started especially since she is moving soon.   After running into a few loop holes, and she having to get ready to move north,  I went and ask Frankie if she would come and give me some pointers which she was more than willing to do.  So for the pass week, Frankie came over for maybe three afternoons  and we have enjoyed talking and eating lunch together while working on my project.  Tks. Frankie! So here it is at the top of page. With any luck we should be done here in a couple more days, well i am hoping. ha.  Its been on my bucket list for along time now and even though its been a challenge and cost more than i wanted to spend on it I am still excited  and its giving me a sense of accompliment!  Frankie has stayed by my side giving me instructions as i sew, sew, and sew!  Teaching me the skills I need to know to do a better job next time. ha.    Not perfect by any means but it is my first.  If ever do this again for sure I have learned alot!  main thing to get every cut just right.   the cutting is the KEY!!   (not sure i will ever do one again)ha.  but soon I can erase this from my bucket list!) ha.

TWO OLD MEN

These two old men meet same time nearly everyday to chat and bring their dogs together.  Maggie knows the minute they arrive. She gets so excited.  I think dad really looks forward to this daily routine.   I think this is for sure a sign of old age. I think dad enjoys being old.  ha!

Poodle skirt days

Made these skirts for my girls and think they really enjoyed them.  Oh they were the cutest little gals!!

SUNG BY LESLIE'S SIBINGS AT HER RECEPTION / LOVED IT

JUST HAD TO POST THIS BEFORE I FORGET

There she was just a-walkin' down the street, singin' "Do wah diddy diddy dum diddy do"
Snappin' her fingers and shufflin' her feet, singin' "Do wah diddy diddy dum diddy do"
She looked good (looked good), she looked fine (looked fine)
She looked good, she looked fine and I nearly lost my mind

Before I knew it she was walkin' next to me, singin' "Do wah diddy diddy dum diddy do"
Holdin' my hand just as natural as can be, singin' "Do wah diddy diddy dum diddy do"
We walked on (walked on) to my door (my door)
We walked on to my door, then we kissed a little more

Whoa-oh, I knew we was falling in love
Yes I did, and so I told her all the things I'd been dreamin' of

Now we're together nearly every single day, singin' "Do wah diddy diddy dum diddy do"
A-we're so happy and that's how we're gonna stay, singin' "Do wah diddy diddy dum diddy do"
Well I'm hers (I'm hers), she's mine (she's mine)
I'm hers, she's mine, wedding bells are gonna chime

Whoa-oh, I knew we was falling in love
Yes I did, and so I told her all the things I'd been dreamin' of

Now we're together nearly every single day, singin' "Do wah diddy diddy dum diddy do"
A-we're so happy and that's how we're gonna stay, singin' "Do wah diddy diddy dum diddy do"
Well I'm hers (I'm hers), she's mine (she's mine)
I'm hers, she's mine, wedding bells are gonna chime

Do wah diddy diddy dum diddy do

Music of yesterday played a big part in our younger days

Love Songs Summers of the 60s
There was nothing like young love or at least that is what we thought back in the fifties and sixties. ha.   Do you remember your first love, your first kiss, or even your first date with that somebody special.  Perhaps you married your high school sweetheart or wondered "what if?"
Reflecting back to that time and to that "special someone" is something everyone does at one time or another, even at our old age.
Do you recall when you started going together, the songs that were playing when you two were an item?
Jukebox Music - The 50s I know today if you tell your kids what they missed in the way of  music , they will just laugh and not believe you but the truth is in the fifties and sixies the music had a different beat and the  romantic music  was something really special!   Today the lyrics of music is jumbled and in no way touch the heart as they did  back in our day/ well just listen for yourself to some  of those songs and your get an idea as to what i am saying.   Dad and I still go back to those days now and then,  some evenings dad will put on the music and we are immediately are transferred back to those days. ha.

Walmart

I cannot complain about walmart. I spent eight yrs. working for them and enjoyed it very much.  It was a blessing to our family when dad no longer had a job.  I will always remember the good people i worked with and how well i was treated.  As i say , no regrets here.gonna add a picture of me here taken at Walmart. ha.

Kidney Stones/oh no!

So dad wakes up in middle of night with what he thinks is a kidney stone.  He was in great pain and woke me up saying he might need my help.    Now that was a new twist cause i understand pain, the pass two years has been nothing but pain for me it seems.   Anyway he threw up some and tryed to sleep  but guess the pain was too intense. Finally around ten am, we called the doctor and were to go in around two pm.    We messed around the house and finally it was time to leave.  The doc checked him out and gave him a prescription.  Sorry to say they have to work their way out, not much you can do about it.  I told dad if i can survive having  seven kids, he can get through this. ha.  I tryed to joke a little. ha.  so here is a picture of  pain where dad was having it. lower back. ugh!

Lady in Red

I ask twenty for her thinking someone who is a doll collector
 might enjoy her.
Guess she will stay in the family awhile longer.  ha.

Sentimental Anyone?

When love is truly right, it lives from year to year/ and changes as it goes alone its  way / But it never disappears.

 Song  "AFTER ALL"  FEW LYRICS

Well here we are again
I guess it must be fate
We've tried it on our own
But deep inside we've known
We'd be back to set things straight...................

When love is truly right
This time it's truly right
It lives from year to year
It changes as it grows
And oh the way it grows
But it never disappears.......................

After all the stops and starts
We keep coming back to these two hearts
Two angels who've been rescued from the fall
And after all that we've been through
It all comes down to me and you
I guess it's meant to be
Forever you and me
After all.........................................
