On Marriage

More and more couples today are living together seeing no reason to get married. So today was thinking of these couples i meet who are really sweet people but that see no need for marriage and just live together /  well today i read this about marriage and it just made sense so I am posting it.
                                                  The Article
Sometimes, people wonder why a marriage ceremony or a marriage license is important and say, “why can’t we just live together and forget the rest , we love each other."  So think of this, Isn't there something severely lacking in a love that doesn’t want to proclaim itself; that does not want witnesses; and that does not want the bond to be recognized by the civil authorities or before God. I think perhaps that love falls short of true marital love.

                                           I thought this well said.:
Marriage is likely the most important step you will take in life. Not to be taken lightly but given to must thought and prayer..Living together doesn't cut it. We’ve grown used to thinking of divorce as the greatest threat to the stability of the American family. But cohabitation has now assumed that role.
Children who reside in these homes where couples live together, not married , are about 11 times more likely to be sexually, physically or emotionally abused — and six times more likely to be neglected — than children living with their married biological parents. Children of cohabiting biological parents are four times more likely to have problems than are their peers with married biological parents. Look around, its happening.

                                                         Quote: Gordon B.Hinckle
" Keep your affections within marriage. Regard as your most precious possession in time or eternity the person with whom you joined hands over the altar in the house of the Lord and to whom you pledged your love and loyalty and affection for time and all eternity. Your companion, your children, and you yourself will then know and feel a security far greater than any that can be bought with hardware and gadgetry."
