Hopefully i have learned alot from growing up in a family that had many problems. Seen lots of anger and arguing as a way of solving problems and from that i wanted things to be different when i raised a family of my own! I set out to do my best! Growing up in such a household as we kids did was not easy. We saw alot and with what I seen, heard and learned for sure made me want things to be better in the home I would one day have. I looked around and knew what kind of family i wanted to have and even the kind of husband i wanted when it was time to choose one. I remember telling Joey that if we married there could be no hitting. He was happy to say that would be no problem. I saw a family in the church sometime after we had Valerie and they seemed ideal so i watched that good family and tryed to follow. Not to say i always succeeded but i sure did try to do my best.
Having a good example when growing up is everything! I know for sure i taught lots of things better than my parents. So i picked up what I admired in other families and learned alot as i went along. The George Family was one of those families and they were near dad and my age and had a daughter named Debbie and at that time we had Valerie. Some things just didn't come easy to me cause just never saw it in action. Well it all went pretty good up until had teen agers and then it got tough but both dad and i tryed to do our best!
We can't change the pass but we can move on and learn from it. Thats just how it is! We learn alot from just living and watching life happen! I think from my own experience, the most important thing i learned from it all was to show and have a genuine love for your children and people in general and treat them as you would want to be treated. I hope and pray dad and I have taught our children to truly show love and have compassion for those whom may cross their path because you honestly don't know what they may or may not have gone through until you have walked in their shoes!
