May you like the work that is yours to do
May your purse always hold a coin or two
May you be happy with life, a smile light your face
May the place where dwell be a wonderful place
May you like the work that is yours to do
May your purse always hold a coin or two
May you be happy with life, a smile light your face
May the place where dwell be a wonderful place
While a pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity, an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty
A pessimist focuses on the negative aspects of a situation while an optimist focuses on the positive potential.
Before I get too old to write anymore in my blog I want to write a few words about the kids dad. I can truly say was a wonderful husband and a good father your dad is. At this time your dad is 83 and we are both enjoying the lazy days of retirement and old age. Afraid I have more problems than your dad at this point. I want you kids to know more things about your dad. For one Joey has always had a love of learning since I have know him. He jumped right into listening to the missionaries and learning about the church and said it made so much sense to him and it had all the answers he had always wondered about. He has been faithful in the church and has always loved the teachings that he has been taught. Your dad was a excellent student in school also, and had this love of learning about things from as early as ten yrs. old. He ask his mother one day after he was out of school this question... "Mom, what was I like as a child?" His mom looked at him and said without hesitation" you were never a child." I thought well that said it all! Also his brother said " Girls sure seem to be getting prettier these days, and his dad replyed No your just getting older." ha! I have also learned that Joey sure loves loves history ...all history. He shares some things with me but to be honest until I got older I never gave it much thought. Since that time I have learned to appreciate some of it. Going to make a list of some of the things your dad listened to and hope one day you might check them out ......
HERE THEY ARE!!
He loves and has a soft heart for the history of World War Two
He really liked Churchill and so very many of his speeches
Dad has a love for animals, particularly dogs, loved our Maggie so much. He still talks about her and watches videos of her. As a child he said his dad had a pet crow named Blackie......... all he had to do was call out his name and he came flying down from wherever he was. Neighbor friends here in Century Oaks know how dad loves dogs and they often stop by at our house knowing dad will want to see their dogs and every time he will make over them. Sweet!
Joey has a soft heart for when the solders came back from World War Two and I could see tears fall from his eyes as he watches the solders come home to love ones. So sentimental when touched by something that speaks to his heart!
Loves the music from 1960's/ we often spend evenings together listening to this music from yesterdays
Loves to watch and shared with me the RCA History of " The Wonderful World of Color."
it was amazing!!!
Going to try to write about my kids personalities and characteristics ......
Valerie......Has a tender heart....wants to do good and help others wherever she can. Has a tender heart for animals. She never misses coming to visit her dad and I every month. She tries hard to teach Levi to be a good person. She is like her Aunt Donna when it comes to helping her kids out. There is nothing she wouldn't do for them. So Jacob and Lindsey make your mama proud!
Randy.....He is Dads right hand man when dad needs help with his computer and that just might be because he lives pretty close to us. So when it comes to dad needing help with his computer or if needs help with the car he calls on Randy. We are very glad they are near, they always go out of their way to help us when we need it!
Angie ...she is a trailblazer , forever seeking new experiences in life . she loves talking to everyone , is headstrong and focused at what she wants from her life and a lady who wants to taste all that life offers Will say too that Angie was great with teaching the kids lots of stuff when they were young, she loved to play school with them and would teach them. That pretty much sums up Angie.
Todd......Was the sweetest child....he always made friends easily, and like his dad had a real hunger for learning which put him right up into the top job he has today. ...works for Lockheed Martin and in Engineering & Technology. Was a very loving child to me growing up. Todd after a testing period turned his life around and went on a mission for our church and we could not have been prouder!! He learned Portuguese was sent to Brazil.
Leslie ....The one thing I remember about Leslie is that she was a "wonderful teenager" and was not afraid to give her mom hugs....I was so proud of her because I could count on her to make good choices. Leslie has a enormous love of music and dance! Always has sung since a little girl in church. I think its a gift!! She must have sung in heaven! Perhaps she gets some from her dad who loves music so very much also. He will play music on the computer for hours in the evening. Have to say she has the most beautiful voice and started singing in church years ago while a very young girl. We wish her so much happiness!!!
Stacey .......Stacey was her mama's helper , spent much of her time with helping me keep up with chores around the house. She as all the kids did really well in school. She also was very active in doing things to help out in young women at church, someone they could count on. Also was great at helping me with the little one and for sure that was a great blessing..
Jennifer.......Well Jen was a super great student and her teachers really loved her.💗...when at home she made us all laugh doing lots of funny things. She was the baby of our home and got lots of attention for sure from all her other siblings. Jen bought lots of laughter into our home and with so many kids it was a heaven sent.
Hurricane Milton touched down last night with super strong winds. We were so worried that our young Sycamore tree would get whipped apart. All was well ...Joey tied it down and we were was very happy that it survived..... we will not live to see it get this big but hope someone will enjoy its shade.
This is our tree!
Valerie loves cats too and she has given each of them some very different names......here they are.
Peanut
Salem
Wolly
Baby.....called Baba
Daigen
Moo Moo
Crabby
KiKa....passed
Kovi
Pumpkin
EVERY ONE ON THIS EARTH IS GIVEN ENOUGH TIME TO FORGIVE, BE KIND TREATING OTHERS AS WE WOULD WANT TO BE TREATED.....JUST DOING ALL OF IT!!!!!
The prophet is a watchman on the tower .....just as Peter, Moses, and all the prophets of old!
A seer will be raised up and he will set up the church and
it will fill the earth and nations will fall to it. This is happening.
We have front roll seats to see this grand thing come about and no matter who you are, Pres.Russell M. Nelson & Joseph Smith really our your prophet and Jesus is really your Savior!
In the last day, good will be made to look evil and evil to look good!
Joseph was told he would be instrumental in bringing the gospel back to its fulness!
So be strong for there are those that would bring you down.
Everything we do is because of that visit to Joseph where the Lord instructed him and answered his special prayer.
A GREAT WORK AND A GREAT RESPONSIBILITY!!!!
IN THE COMING YEARS IT WILL NOT BE POSSIBLE TO SURVIVE WITHOUT HIS SPIRITUAL HELP !!
This is so true
We're all in the same boat
Fishin' in the same hole
Wonderin' where the same time goes
We're all in the same boat
[Verse 1]
We could all believe what we believe
Peacefully agree to disagree
But you can't judge a man
Until you walk a country mile in his shoes
Dood'n-doo-doo-doo
[Chorus]
We're all in the same boat
Fishin' in the same hole
Wonderin' where the same time goes, and money too
Tryin' to fix the same broke hearts
Wishin' on the same stars
We're all hopin' hope floats
We're all in the same boat
[Verse 2]
We all been kicked and knocked around
But you ain't gonna keep a good man down
You can run like hell from your mistakes
But you can't hide from your truth
We're all in the same boat
Fishin' in the same hole
Wonderin' where the same time goes, and money too
For my mothers day gift Sherry knew i wanted a new tree in my yard. She got all the kids to donate money and they did and we were so excited and now not even a year yet and its beautiful!!
Here are some pictures of our wonderful gift
