The Hiker The Gardener

In the highlands a hiker chanced to come upon a beautiful estate. The caretaker was caring for the beautiful garden and showed the hiker the flower filled garden that he cared for.  " Is your master here the year round said the hiker,"   no he is away said the gardener.  "How long has he been gone?"  "Its been about twenty years now the gardener replied."   I suppose you hear from him often right?  "No said the garderner,  he hasn't come by or written me even once."
So who comes to oversee things? "Its seldom that anyone shows up or even stops around here" said the caretaker.  Wow, and you still keep the estate in perfect order! "Yes I do sir, I keep everything as though my master were to come today."
Moral of story:    If in these uncertain times you and I apply the gardeners principle to cultivate our little plot of "spiritual ground" that our creator has entrusted to us, then we will certainly be ready when our Master calls us home!
