Philharmonic Orchestra

I am excited to blog that Sat. evening I went to my very first live concert ever which was downtown at the Orlando Bob Carr Auditorium!  Angie got dad and I tickets to go hear Simon and Garfunkel music that was famous back in the 1950's. Of course Simon and Garfunkel were not there in person but their music and two men did a super job performing in there place.  Angie was excited about this gift as she knows her dad loves music so she got these tickets for our Christmas gift. Loving music she knew dad would like this.  As it worked out he wasn't feeling up to it. So reguardless those tickets were not going to be wasted at all.  Jen and I were happy to go together and we had a wonderful afternoon!   Can't say enough how much I enjoyed it!!  I have watched Orchestra's on tv but something was different watching this live. We had assigned seats right in the middle aisle which was perfect!!  I enjoyed watching the instruments as the music flowed from them and the differernt sounds as each chimed in to give the background music. So enjoyed listened to AJ Swearingen and Jonathan Beedle sing the songs that were hits back in the late 50's. Have listed here some of Simon and Garfunkel's songs that we heard.

Homeward Bound
Feeling Groovy
I am A rock
Sounds of Silence
Cecilia
Scarborough Fair
Bridge Over Troubled Water
Mrs. Robinson  ...and others

The director was funny.... he had the audience join in on the song that had the "NaNa Medley"... he made it alot of fun!

There are different shows every few months in the Auditorium with music and performers and yes I would love to go again one day!  They are building another new Auditorium which will be even nicer than this one they say.  I remember all the fun plays I got to attend here in Eustis with the Bay Street Players which were also gifts made possible by Angie. So thank you so very much Angie for I will never forget these great gifts!!
