Moment To Moment / Day to Day

What? half the world is single!!
Divorce, Breakups, Loss of a loved one, these are hard facts of life that many have to deal with. It is making the transition from one place to another in your life. For some its once being married to being single again.

I have a daughter who has come along way in one of these transitions and I am so proud of her! It is hard when something like this happens. At one moment feeling secure and then boom your on your own - left feeling alone. There is nothing more devastating than being lonely! Even if it feels like the end of the world, you, me, all of us will survive what we have to go through in this life, no matter how hard it may seem at the time.

You will feel whole again I promise. It will take time but will happen, moment to moment and day to day as we go on healing and living. Healing means finding the strength to let go and rebuild a new life. It means having confidence and rising to the challenge of finding this new life and feeling whole again as a person. You have likely heard of "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus." These books tell the difference between men and women on different levels. I have been reading another book by the same author titled "Mars and Venus Starting Over." It steers you through difficult times of Divorce, Breakups, and Loss of a Loved One, and turns a painful ending into a joyous new beginning!

Blessings to any who might have to go this route in this life, you can make it, you can turn a painful ending into a joyous new beginning!

WHY A FENCE?/ for my grandchildren to read

A teenager was not getting along with her parents, too many rules! As she was out tending the pasture of cows which the family had, she saw that the one cow was trying to get through the fence. She hurried and made him go back. The next day when she went to do her morning chore, she found the cow had gotten out of the fence and was all swollen up. She quickly went to get her father and when they returned the cow was dead. STUPID COW the girl shouted , didn't you realize that fence was there for your protection! She cryed and then it dawned on her that was exactly why her parents set rules, they wanted to protect her!
Listen to your parents , they love you and want only whats best for you, there job is much like the teenager in this story, watching over the cows. Your parents job is to watch over you and to protect you from harm.
So true guys and gals! love you all, grams

PUZZLE

Well two wks. ago I set out to do this puzzle , only 500 pieces. it would be a snap! Something to do when relaxing and not running around. Well all was good and got to the very bottom of the puzzle and had only maybe twenty five pieces to go and then BOOM! pulled out and put in and still only had twenty pieces to go and thought ok almost done , then rearranged some and still only twenty pieces to go, ok, its all good , just hit a tough place but no big deal, but now had thirty pieces to go. OK, I can do this and now its the last of the second week and after four hours working on it for three nights I am starting to wonder, four evenings taken up , perhaps I should throw in the towel. What happened , your guess is as good as mine?? I have worked the most complicated puzzles ever so many times and for the life of me could not figure out how to get these few blue pieces of sky put together. Wow, I will have dad take a picture of this small puzzle that beat the socks off me as they say. Will add this puzzle here so you can see what I was dealing with. From the image the pieces look awful cause they have been bent , pushed and shoved every which way to get them to fit into the right place. Think I even found still where a couple went but by looks of puzzle you might not be able to tell they go there. ha! If ever their was a challenge this one was it for sure!!

Good Advice!

Live simply
Love generously
Care deeply
Speak kindly
Leave the rest to God...

People might forget what you said..
People might forget what you did..
But , People will never forget how you made them feel!

Just Five More Minutes/Priorities

Read in the paper an article called "five more minutes." A man and lady were watching their kids play in the park. The lady said thats my son over there, the man said thats my daughter over there. Then watching the the children play for awhile , the man said , "what do you say we go , Melissa." Just five more minutes ,dad. Please! the children continue to play. later... time to go now Melissa... just five more minutes dad. the man smiled and said OK.
My, you are a patient father the woman said to the man, the man smiled and said , well you see, her brother was killed by a drunk driver while riding his bike near here and I never spent much time with him and now I'd give anything for just five more minutes with him. I vowed not to make the same mistake with Melissa.
She thinks she has five more mins. to play and the truth is , I get five more mins. to watch her play.

Life is all about making priorities , what are your priorities?
Give someone you love 5 more mins. of your time today!

Kristen & Gramma

Today Kristen andIwent on a hunt to find a rug for my living room. I decided to the Villages which is a community of retirees about forty minutes away from Eustis figuring with all those stores we would find my rug there. No luck, but we did have a nice day. Hit most the stores and finally gave up and headed back home. We stopped at McD's and ate and then kept right on driving. Somehow we missed our turn and after awhile I said "Kristen do you remember any of this?" and she said no and then I said" we might be heading in the wrong direction and we started laughing and then when I saw the turnpike then I knew we were not heading in the right direction. I said this is not right and we turned around and headed back where we missed our turn and then after a few minutes we saw another sign saying Taveres and Howey in the Hills, which is just over the hill from where we were. We decided hey, lets turn off here and did and went for along way but nice country drive and yes got to familiar territory. Quite an adventure but fun for sure! tks. Kristen for hanging out with your grammy today and making my day fun & special! love gramms

Aidan and fish!

Here is Aidan playing with a live fish outdoors in his swimming pool. Stacey was telling me how he throws them in his pool so they have more room I reckon. I will try to have her tell the story and put it into this blog. I say he is going to be another Crocodile Dundy. ha!
The only one I remember having lots of pets of my kids was Jenny. I would love to put a picture of her here with one of her pets along with Aidan. maybe later. He sure loves the outdoors. ha.

Dad/ another Albert Einstein

Most of you know already know that dad is forever figuring out things in his head and asking himself the big question WHY? why does this work like this? why is this here and not there? why is this round and not square? why is it red and not yellow? why is this number higher and this one lower? why , why, why?
Always dad is looking in wonderment at the universe and putting it all together. always listening , learning and coming up with the answer and telling me WHY this is like it is. Most the time it goes over my head and then other times I think gosh, this guy is like Albert Einstein! Listening to the History Channel is his favorite on the tube. Now how does that compare to me watching" Deal or No Deal" ha! We are total opposites! But there are times I have to admit when he will draw me into his world of curiosity and I see the wonderment of what he sees. His brain is forever working on the ever present question of Do You Know Why ?

Aidan/ The Outdoors Boy

Stacey, Aroon and Aidan were here this weekend and had dinner with us. Aidan is sure growing and talking. Stacey told me all about his adventures with fish , worms , tad poles and such! He is such a outdoor boy! One of the funny story she shared was his putting fish in his babypool outdoors and then catching them with his hands and throwing them back in again. ha. Bet those poor fish were dramatized and thought what is going on here? The other thing was while they were at a pet store Aidan was wanting all these huge reptiles and Stacey was telling Aidan they cost too much and Aidan's response was, call gramma Sue! ha! Someone might be getting spoiled! Stacey said he wanted a large bird , a snake , all these huge reptiles. I think we might have another Steve Irwin in the making. For sure this little guy is far more attractive. ha! It was a nice visit for all!

The Gerber Family

The Gerbers have just recently moved out of their little cottage beach home in hopes of a year from now finding a bigger home and putting down roots maybe for good! Anyway this isn't a recent picture but it will do for now and will update you more later.

The pear orchard kids!

Here we are with our mother. She always had jet black hair as long as I can remember. Thats Bump and I in front of mom. In back is Noble and Jean when they were expecting their first child Cindy. They divorced later when kids were near teen agers. Donna is front right. She always looked like a movie star to me. Never a hair out of place and if there was she would cry and not leave the house till it looked right. she could always get any guy she wanted. Reckon I was always a little jealous of her. Just look how much taller she was than I and we only fifteen months apart. wow! I will add more later on the pear orchard kids.
