A Stroke

  Who would believe my sister Donna would have a stroke. Not me!  She always tryed to take care of herself and kept all her doctor appo. and that kind of thing.  Well it totally took us all by surprise.  Tomorrow she will come home from a rehab place called Encompass where she has been for a week.   She had to take several test to see how her vital signs were and needed to practice at first but now doing great and yes would say she is 99% back to normal.  She should have been on Blood Thinner and has had Afib as well so it all just came tumbling down! It seriously scared her and me.  She was so scared she even had a lawyer from our church make up a deed for her and bring it to the hospital for her to sign of which I was a wistness.  You just never know what life is going to throw your way.   I now wonder how prepared I am if something like this would happen to dad or I....we Todd kids are not so young anymore, soon er all will be in our eighties.  Wow, time does fly as they say.  Get well sweet Donna and as you already know you are greatly loved by everyone!!

Wow! 58 Years

  On the 3rd of June Joey and I celebrated our marriage of 58 yrs. 💓 Now thats along time folks! Yes he was my prince in shining armor and I felt so proud to be his wife! The years have come and gone and we have been blessed to have seven children.  Well I can still say he is my knight in shining armor and I feel  I could not have chosen a better man to spend my life with and as Jenny said in the card she gave to  us  "It was ment to be and in the cards the whole time."  The card showed a King and Queen of Hearts on the front.  So sweet!  At times I  feel he deserves alot more in a wife than I am able to be.   I really feel he is the only one that could live with me in my old age and deal with all my many problems.  I  wish I could be all he deserves..for I really feel he deserved more.
When all is said and done it has been a good life and he has been a good provider!  Up and downs like in any marriage and now we have come upon our winding down years and I really want to fall in love again everyday with this man I chose to marry 58 yrs. ago.  We both want to keep our love going strong till our time here on earth is over.    Thank you Joey for choosing me!!

             May you and Maggie share great memories here!!

love this song

                                   BE STILL MY SOUL

"Be Still, My Soul, Hymn (Based On Finlandia)" Lyrics   You will love it...please listen. tks.

Be still, my soul: The Lord is on thy side;
With patience bear thy cross of grief or pain.
Leave to thy God to order and provide;
In every change he faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul: Thy best, thy heavenly Friend
Thru thorny ways leads to a joyful end.

Be still, my soul: Thy God doth undertake
To guide the future as he has the past.
Thy hope, thy confidence let nothing shake;
All now mysterious shall be bright at last.
Be still, my soul: The waves and winds still know
His voice who ruled them while he dwelt below.

Be still, my soul: The hour is hastening on
When we shall be forever with the Lord,
When disappointment, grief, and fear are gone,
Sorrow forgot, love's purest joys restored.
Be still, my soul: When change and tears are past,
All safe and blessed we shall meet at last.

Jen takes us to Bok Towers / Historic Landmark

   Well last Sat. Jen, dad and I went to Bok Towers!  It is located in Lake Wales.  I really enjoyed it alot, beautiful grounds and it was a perfect breezy day for this day out! We left in morning so it was good and we missed the really big crowd that showed up just as we were leaving the place.   I got to go inside an old home from 1932 called Pinewood Estate. A man named Austin Buck lived in it still his death in 1945.  His wife never got to enjoy it or live in it for she died of a stroke before it was completed.  sad.  It sets upon a big hill over seeing the city of Lake Wales.  After two other families lived there after Mr. Buck died,  Bok decided to buy the house and the acres cause he had the money and it set high upon the hill......he had made it good here in the U. S. and wanted to give back .  Will paste in picture soon.

My hometown

In my hometown there were three neighborhoods that were not where the rich and famous lived...ha!  and they were called  : Bunker Hill .....Dad lived here
                                     Pear Ochard...I lived here
                                    North End....well not too well off here either

The rich and famous lived in a place called Burnett Heights  ....beautiful homes where you would dream that one day you might just get to live there. ha!  Vincennes, Indiana my hometown  look so big to me back then and now I look at it and think its so small.... guess because I was just a kid back then made it look bigger to me then.

I'm a little bit country

 CHUCK NORRIS/WALKER TEXAS RANGER
CLINT EASTWOOD

YES I LIKE TO WATCH THESE GUYS IN ACTION SHOWS.......
Have to say these two guys are my favorite crime fighters!  But Walker , Chuck Norris is my favorite! He has such a sweet side and loving personality and his goodness just shines through.....where Clint Eastwood is certainly tough (Remember Dirty Harry/yikes) for sure he gets the job done but he just misses that tender side.

Living Nativiity Pageant

Failed to post during Christmas time that I had attended a Christmas Pageant for maybe my first time ever. Well will say nothing as big as this one!  It was so nice and was like walking through Bethlehem during time of Jesus.  This was put on by the Presbyterian Church and have to say they did a fantastic job! It was set up out in the country where there were tons of room and amazing effects.
        You walk through the village and see people dressed as they dressed back in Jesus time, you  see animals , market people , all of it! As you walk through the village you will see those that represent:
 Adam, Noah , Abaham, Moses , The Promised Land , A Tabernacle, Rahab, David, Prophets, Wise men and Shepherds, and at the end will see the cross and a amazing tomb and the good news that He has Risen!  Really was neat, had to take alot of  hard work to put this together!  If ever here at this time of year I would say go to see it....you won't be sorry.  Just saw thats its their 23rd annual pageant. Wow!

MOVIE "MORTAL STORM"

 Professor Victor enjoyed a tranquil life
with his family in Germany. His daughter Freya is courted both by Martin and Fritz . However, when the Nazis take control of the country, all their lives are shaken and changed forever.

   Watched this old movie last night in black and white and it taught me that nothing is for certain in life when comes to family.  We are here as family but we are individuals and have our own way of thinking and looking at things.
   This movie brought me to tears. I ask that all my children watch this movie and perhaps you might even think on these words that were quoted at the end of the movie by George V1 king of England.

"I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year,  give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown.   And he replied , "Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the hand of God.  That shall be to you better than light and safer than a known way."  May that Almighty  Hand guide and uphold us all."

Its one of Dad's Favorite Quotes!
