The Dress!

I remember I loved this dress. Felt like a princess in it. I felt pretty when I put it on . Think the picture was taken in a store, maybe on my Birthday. Look at that tight hair do! ha, the dress had very small checks , thinking brown or yellow and white and brown trim. Wish I knew for sure but I do remember loving this dress and how it made me feel when I wore it! mama

My Older Siblings/A Big Family

Starting at left is Sarah 73, then Frankie 86 , Joe 79, Jean 75[has passed on] and Roscoe 81.
Bump 68, Donna 71 and myself 70, are not in this photo, but will post us later. They all have a story to tell. I think I might have already blogged about a few of them.

Aidan' Birthday/ Three yrs. old

Today was the best day we have enjoyed for a very long time. To celebrate Aidan's Birthday party we went to this farm out on the outskirts of Eustis. We saw goats, horse, rooster, mule, and did the zip line and went through a maze. It was wonderful! We can't think of when we have enjoyed ourselves so much. We all brought food and ate under a pavilion and all the buildings were bright red with white trim. For sure I felt like I was at the Red Rooster Farm. It looked like something out of a colorful magazine. Will be posting pictures here soon. mama

2012

Tonight we watched the movie 2012 and I would have to say that I think everyone should watch it. Made up or not it shows that nothing material in this world is of great importance. What really matters after all is said and done is family and relationships .
It was scary seeing Ca. go down into the Pacific Ocean because I have daughters living in Ca. [I know guys, its just a movie]But on a serious note the story tells of this disaster that started with these neutrino's [need to look that up]that fall from the sun and they are hot but once they reach us ,and go through the atmosphere, they never cause us any trouble. But in this story they cause Big trouble. They fall through the sky and cause the core of the earth which is molten to get even hotter than usual and it causes this great catastrophe destroying most all civilization. This heating up of the earth core causes these great earthquakes everywhere plus tsunami's. Could the world end like that? Well I don't know but it sure gave me alot to think about and to take another look as to whats important and if you saw this movie I'm sure it made you think too. Would I give my life for another? Where do I place my priorities? for sure this movie brings it home. And as a mother I can say yes, I would give my life for any of my children. love you always, mama

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FRANKIE [ 86 ]

Well, today is Frankie's Birthday and she is 86 yrs. old. This is the first Birthday Dinner without Daymond by her side. Joe has come from Indiana to help us celebrate and it just happens to be bike week also so both is good. We all went out to eat at the Golden Coral which is a buffet which the guys just love. Donna got her balloons and a cake and we came back later and sang Happy Birthday to her and all had cake and ice cream and listened to Joe tell of the good old days. A very pleasant afternoon. mama

I Believe

I believe : by Jimmy Durante

I believe for every drop of rain that falls, a flower grows
And I believe that somewhere in the darkest night a candle glows
I believe for everyone who goes astray
Someone will come to show the way
Yes I believe, oh I believe
I believe above the storm the smallest prayer will still be heard
I believe that someone in the great somewhere hears every word
Every time I hear a newborn baby cry
Or touch a leaf or see the sky
Then I know why I believe

Every time I hear a newborn baby cry
Or touch a leaf or see the sky
Then I know why I believe.

I believe/ by mama

I believe in family
I believe in babies
I believe in pets
I believe in patience
I believe in prayer
I believe in love
I believe in reading good books
I believe in cozy homes
I believe in relaxation
I believe in comfy pajamas
I believe in the golden rule
I believe in work
I believe in YOU
I believe in God
I believe we are part of a plan
I believe in being happy
I believe in healthy living
I believe in music
I believe in fun
I believe in simplicity
I believe in color
I believe in YOU

Found this Poem

I believe the stars keep shining all throught the night.
I believe if we just keep trying it will be alright.
I believe that someday we're gonna find our way.
And I believe oh yes in a beautiful day.

I believe there's an answer waiting when the day is done.
I believe if you just keep searching you'll find the one.
And I believe in a beautiful day.
Oh yes, I still believe in a beautiful day!!

OUR PIONEER HERITAGE!

Well , I been at this calling in church for about three yrs. now and think I been doing pretty good at it.
Just had another one Tues. and this one was on" Our Pioneer Heritage." Here are some pictures I took. Too many to put on this blog. Made nice handouts for the sisters to take home plus a pioneer guessing game rolled up here in the basket you see on the table and got lots of display stuff from Frankie, like the old slaw cutter and other stuff from some of the other ladies. the old iron Sherry let me borrow. It was a nice evening! mama

Got the rainy day blues!

It's a dark and dreary day!

Is there some days you just don't feel UP and its very hard to get through the day? Well thats exactly how I am feeling today! Its rainy and cloudy outside and I am stuck indoors and not sure why I am feeling restless today. I could read a book or work on my puzzle but still I am kind of blue and can't seem to shake it. Want to get into a better mood but today is just one of those days.
Lots of things may cause this feeling besides the weather. It might be a feeling of not being good enough, smart enough, pretty enough, nice enough , young enough, skinny enough, rich enough, confident enough and the list can go on and on and on. Well ,today I feel like all of these. I wonder why people get the blues now and then anyway?? Right now I don't quite understand the why but sure [The sun will come out tomorrow , bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow there be sun] so till then I'll wait and just maybe tomorrow will be a bright and sun shiny day! Till tomorrow!!! mama

Grammie's Sweetheart!

was trying to take picture of us together holding camera

He was pretty sick there for awhile and I was fortunate enough to get to keep him for a wk. and two days. I miss him already! He is the best baby and he won over my heart with his smiles and grins. Heather and Todd ,I want to thank you for allowing me to take care of your little man as long as I did. I have some great memories and I truly got to bond with him and felt that he loved his grammy !! I only wish that I could have lived close to you guys so I could have been his nanny everyday. It would have been such a Joy!!

Oak Trees

Wow! have you ever seen trees this huge? Yes, these are the coolest oak trees I have ever seen since moving here to Lake County. Took these pictures just up the road in Umatilla. They set up for a Flea Market right under these huge oak trees. There is three right in a row and they look like huge spiders really! I thought they were fascinating and took these pictures and just had to post them. Want to add two that are in our neighborhood also , all these trees are gigantic! I love it!! [ well maybe I better restate that] I never had any allergies till moving here and now it happens once a year and they say its the oak trees. oh no! mama

Along Awaited Cabin!

What I invision as a cabin

This second place might be what Donna has in mind.

Time will tell! but Donna said it will likely just be a one room cabin.

My sister D
onna was telling me for years about a cabin her husband Harley has been wanting to build for many years. Well that dream is about to become a reality. He has a friend who has started building it this past fall. It will be finished this year when the weather warms up. I found this picture at top and this is what I invision a cabin looking like . I am not sure but the second picture might be what Donna invisions.
But whatever, this is what I think of
when I think of a cabin and the question is , what kind of cabin is Harley having built up in those mountains? But one thing for certain , Harley is going to have his DREAM CABIN that he has talked about for years and now it will one day be a reality! I will post it here once it is finished and I have a picture. This has been a dream of his for a very long time and it will finally come to pass. Harley has been ill this pass year and has had a kidney removed. Perhaps he is worried and wants to see his dream come true.
He has only one kidney left and if he gets it checked every so often he might just have the possibility of many years still ahead to enjoy his cabin. Bloging this has taught me that if you have a dream , go for it! Life is short and these are the winding up years. Good Luck Harley, its never too late as they say and we wish you well with your health and hope you get to enjoy many days to come in your Dream Cabin!

Leslie

Leslie was a cheerleader, a singer, made good grades in school, and always her teacher in grade school knew if it was Leslie's paper when handed in because of her cute drawings she left for her teacher to see plus her lovely hand writing. Leslie loved school and always had a smile on her face. She was a happy child but then all my kids were when they were young, hope they are today also. mama

Will add one of her papers here later.

Is there a Plan?

As everyone knows , church is a big part of my life. Its just that I choose to believe it is His plan!
Life is like stepping stones! Its like going to school, you learn, grow and progress.
I read a book awhile back and here is a quote from it:

" Although there's no question a belief in God would come in handy, it would be great to think there is a plan."

Well I thought it sad when I read this cause this lady was approaching the end of her life and made this statement. I wish she had known that it all wasn't for nothing! Much happens good and bad while we are here on earth and not knowing there is a plan people lose hope in those last days that come and they will come to us all.
Being a believer gives us a reason to expect the best!! Perhaps this lady who wrote this will never find that out or even except that there is a plan. Until then she will come to the end of her life being a little sad. One day just as this person has come to the realization that they have only a few good years left remaining, it hits them with real force, if only there was a plan!
Well ,what do you think? is there a plan?
Whatever you choose I hope you choose to BELIEVE! Enjoy your life , and do respect God and His Son. You are a part of their plan and you are here to enjoy and experience it all!

Cherish every day, you will one day remember , that you loved, you married , you had children, you played, you laughed , you smiled , and in the end you will go on and marvel that indeed there was a plan after all!

I choose to believe that this life is indeed a wonderful plan! I love it!!
To believe that my relationship with my family will go on.
Oh! how more wonderful could it get! love you all , mama

A Tribute To Jen

Jen is so talented! She really does give alot of thought to whatever she does for others. That is a gift! Years ago she made a one of a kind gift for her dad that he has cherished it every since. He doesn't want anything to happen to it and keeps it in his shed where he spends some of his time/ if he isn't doing yard work , geneology, church work, watching 3-D movies or watching Sherlock Holmes or Columbo or maybe just getting in a extra nap. ha!
Anyway this week I happen to see the computer that Jen had put together along time ago for her dad and decided to blog it. Jen actually made it out of cardboard piece by piece and actually pinned it together. Since then dad has glued it so it stays together permanently. Anyway I decided I needed to blog about this gift. Just knowing her dad was really into computers and he would have liked a new one I'm sure, she came up with this. Well it was better than getting a new one! Being into computers as he was , she made him this mock up one as a surprise for Christmas. He said and I quote "you know, this took some real effort on Jen's part." So you did good Jen!
Years have passed and he still loves his cardboard computer today. I remember also some years back when she was quite small Jen started doing cross stitch, she was soooo good at it. She did a few wall hangings for a few of the new grandbabies that came along and I have a couple small framed cross stitch pictures in my hallway that she did for Dad and I. Just a couple years ago she surprised me with a beautiful framed 12 by 15 Rooster that she crossed stitched for me. I love it! The needle point Rooster hangs today above my dining room table in my home and it will forever remain there. Now she is working on a Eagle ! Creative she is! Tonight I am posting this as a tribute to our Jenny for the love she put into making that computer she built for her dad at Christmas time so many years ago and also my Rooster. I remember that Christmas after evening had rolled around and we were just relaxing , I ask dad if he had to name his favorite gift that he received that day what would it be ? ...he hesitated a minute and then said, they were all really nice gifts but if he had to pick just one as my favorite , then there was this emotional look in his eyes that he often gets[even a little teary] when he gets sentimental about something, he finally spoke up and said," if I had to pick a favorite it would have to be the computer Jenny made me." I was shocked and said really! he then said , "I got some really nice gifts this year but it touched me that Jen would go to all that work into making this for me." It was heart felt and yes, he loves it that much! To this day it still means alot to him . He keeps it in his shed with all his other treasures. Good job Jen! a one of a kind gift , bet you never thought you were making such a special memory! love you forever Jen, mom and dad
