A Tribute To Jen

Jen is so talented! She really does give alot of thought to whatever she does for others. That is a gift! Years ago she made a one of a kind gift for her dad that he has cherished it every since. He doesn't want anything to happen to it and keeps it in his shed where he spends some of his time/ if he isn't doing yard work , geneology, church work, watching 3-D movies or watching Sherlock Holmes or Columbo or maybe just getting in a extra nap. ha!
Anyway this week I happen to see the computer that Jen had put together along time ago for her dad and decided to blog it. Jen actually made it out of cardboard piece by piece and actually pinned it together. Since then dad has glued it so it stays together permanently. Anyway I decided I needed to blog about this gift. Just knowing her dad was really into computers and he would have liked a new one I'm sure, she came up with this. Well it was better than getting a new one! Being into computers as he was , she made him this mock up one as a surprise for Christmas. He said and I quote "you know, this took some real effort on Jen's part." So you did good Jen!
Years have passed and he still loves his cardboard computer today. I remember also some years back when she was quite small Jen started doing cross stitch, she was soooo good at it. She did a few wall hangings for a few of the new grandbabies that came along and I have a couple small framed cross stitch pictures in my hallway that she did for Dad and I. Just a couple years ago she surprised me with a beautiful framed 12 by 15 Rooster that she crossed stitched for me. I love it! The needle point Rooster hangs today above my dining room table in my home and it will forever remain there. Now she is working on a Eagle ! Creative she is! Tonight I am posting this as a tribute to our Jenny for the love she put into making that computer she built for her dad at Christmas time so many years ago and also my Rooster. I remember that Christmas after evening had rolled around and we were just relaxing , I ask dad if he had to name his favorite gift that he received that day what would it be ? ...he hesitated a minute and then said, they were all really nice gifts but if he had to pick just one as my favorite , then there was this emotional look in his eyes that he often gets[even a little teary] when he gets sentimental about something, he finally spoke up and said," if I had to pick a favorite it would have to be the computer Jenny made me." I was shocked and said really! he then said , "I got some really nice gifts this year but it touched me that Jen would go to all that work into making this for me." It was heart felt and yes, he loves it that much! To this day it still means alot to him . He keeps it in his shed with all his other treasures. Good job Jen! a one of a kind gift , bet you never thought you were making such a special memory! love you forever Jen, mom and dad
