Be Still My Soul

Lyrics to a song we sing at church. One of my favorites.  Its so Beautiful! it always touches my heart and almost makes me cry when we sing it. if you were to hear the melody you would understand how very lovely this song is.
  1. Be still, my soul: The Lord is on thy side;
With patience bear thy cross of grief or pain.
    Leave to thy God to order and provide;
In ev'ry change he faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul: Thy best, thy heav'nly Friend
Thru thorny ways leads to a joyful end.
  2.  Be still, my soul: Thy God doth undertake
To guide the future as he has the past.
    Thy hope, thy confidence let nothing shake;
All now mysterious shall be bright at last.

Be still my soul: The waves and winds still know
His voice who ruled them while he dwelt below.
Be still, my soul: The hour is hast'ning on
When we shall be forever with the Lord,
When disappointment, grief, and fear are gone,
Sorrow forgot, love's purest joys restored.
Be still, my soul: When change and tears are past,
All safe and blessed we shall meet at last.

Body in Motion

Now this is something easier said than done!   Sure you have seen the commercial on tv lately that says a body in motion tends to stay in motion while a body at rest tends to stay at rest! well  keeping this body moving is not easy and I am sure its a lifetime pursuit for most of us.

Today Jack Lalanne died at 96. He was the fitness guy back in the  forties and fifties and he was all about fitness and eating right and taking care of your body .  I do know its important to be healthy and if i don't get some weight off myself  its not going to be good yrs. ahead for me.
Would have --Should have --and Could have / just doesn't cut it!!

Jack said " the only way that you can hurt your body is to not use it!"  I know thats true and for sure people are doing more to keep healthy and are living longer than ever before.  for this new generation exercise has  become a way of life! I wish i had started yrs. ago. Its getting late in the game for me.   You need to start young and make it a way of life,  a habit like my neighbor Frank does who is 88 and walks a mighty fast walk around the block nearly everyday.  He used to run but can't do that anymore.

So there is this advertisement on tv that says:
" A body at rest seems to stay at rest,
A body in motion tends to stay in motion."

OK!  lets all get off our buns!! ha.

Memories of Oma Sullivan & Frank Todd Family

Dad's side:

My dad married my mom when he was twenty and she only fourteen.
In our backyard they cut up apples and let them dry in the sun, no dehydrating machine.
Relative owned bees and my dad had some of them in back yard that he worked with.
Dad worked with beehives for along time and will find out more about this adventure later
Dad later went to work on funaces.
Dad was Dutch - Engish and Welsh.
First time the Todd's came here was in ? ...............     they were farmers, Dad's father was a photographer not sure but want to check out to see if we were related to Mary Todd wife of Abe Lincoln.

Mom's side:

Mom was 7 months preg. with Joe when she was baptized in the church .Never was active.
Mom was Indian - Irish , she held several jobs but mostly in resturants to help make ends meet.
She was just a kid when she married and never really settled in to becoming a homemaker.

Will post more info here as i find it. want to know more about both sides of our family.

Good Statements

Once upon a memory someone wiped a tear, held me close and loved me, thank you mother dear!

Swallowing your pride will never give you indigestion.

So you can't take your money with you. Never seen a Hearth with a brink truck behind it. ha.

The best way to live is to appreciate each minute as an unrepeatable MIRACLE ,
work at your work
play at your play
Don't try to borrow from your future
...accept that now is the best time of your life!

The first to apologize is the bravest
The first to forgive is the strongest
The first to forget is the Happiest!   I believe this to be true!

Blue bird of happiness!!

Happiness is when , what you think and what you say and what you do all work together in harmony!  Time changes things but in reality you actually have to make the change yourself! believing in you! Time changes things but in reality you actually have to make the change yourself!

Find Joy in the Journey!

Wow! this is a great statement!
This is what I want for all my children to have........
                                                                     joy in the journey!

This is a once in a lifetime happening. So i ask you , are you finding joy in the journey?   I truly hope so!    Day by day, minute to minute , second by second , we  have all gone through change after change to where we are today. And we will all continue going thru alterations in our lifetime and in the end it really doesn't matter where you started from , how much worldly  goods you accumulated or titles you gained, or even what you know.  But what does matter when all is said and done, is what you have become? after all this lifetime of living! What have you become?

I hope you all have progressed to be more loving, more understanding, kinder, more generous, having integrity and having come to a place where you like who you have become.   as your mother I wish you all
"  JOY IN THE JOURNEY! "

I'm too young to be Seventy/ by Judith Viorst

Well I am no longer seventy but have now turned seventy two this month. ugh!
As much as i hate to admit it ,  i am starting to feel it a little!
Read this book Angie got me for my Birthday and could relate to some of the situations that occur at this age

No lines on my face
No gray in my hair
No stains on my clothes
No dust on the table
Oh how perfect the world becomes
When i take off my glasses!      what would we see without our glasses? ha.

She talks about at ninety, she won't care about her weight which is always a issue. ha.
Thermostatically  incompatible/  for sure relate to this/ cause dad and i have issues with this

In the middle of the night!  / well lately sleeping is something i have been having trouble with.
A one liner  / "He sleeps the sleep of the dead. Could he be dead?  I turn on the light and check his pulse. No, he is just sleeping."  haha.

 I wake up on Monday
Eat lunch on Wed.
Go to sleep on Friday and before i know it the wk. is gone.  just wishing away the hours the days the years and as if there will Always Always Always be more!!!  ugh!

When Christ comes!

When Christ comes, they will ask,
What are these wounds in thine hands and in thy feet?

Jesus will speak /     Then shall they know that I am the Lord, for I will say unto them , These wounds are the wounds with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.  I am he who was lifted up. I am Jesus that was crucified .

I am the Son of God!

O, ye nations of the earth, how often would i have gathered you together as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, but ye would not!

Great quotes

this post will consist of quotes i love:

1.  It takes no longer to be good example than to be a poor one.
2. It takes no longer to do right rather than wrong.
 3. Remember the Lord will compensate you for suffering if you hold out and are faithful.
He did it for JOB, he will do it for you.
4.Be grateful for the present day, because it may never come again
5. Think of one wonderful thing that happened today
6. Do not spend time worrying about events that are out of our control
7. Count your blessings , literally

MINI VACATION

Spanish Point, Robbi's Reef & the Jetties

Frankie , Donna and I went to my brothers home for a mini vacation in Nikomic FL.    He was a great host and we had a really nice time.  Sooo relaxing getting away from the regular routine of everyday life. ha. Everynight we set by the pool talking about the good old days. Thanks Bump. I  know he had to have lots of patience listening to us old ladies chatting away everyday. ha!

Historic Spanish Point is a 30-acre museum and environmental complex located in Osprey, Florida.

Robbi's Reef  ,  just a little hole in the wall resturant that bump loves to eat at.

Venice Jetty Fishing off Casey KeyImageBertha PalmerIn 1910 Bertha Palmer made her first impact on Sarasota history and on the Spanish Point homestead. The Chicago socialite and widow of Potter Palmer came to Sarasota to establish a winter estate. She purchased thousands of acres for cattle ranching, citrus groves, and real estate development. The Webb homestead was part of the land she chose for her 350-acre estate which she named “Osprey Point.” She preserved the pioneer buildings and connected them with lavish formal gardens and lawns.

CIRCLE OF LIFE

THIS IS WHAT ITS ALL ABOUT FOLKS/ THE CIRCLE OF LIFE!   HOW I LOVE THIS SONG!!
Mom and Dad showing that they care deeply for each other and the babies makes life complete! in the"Circle Of Life"   read the words .

From the day we arrive on the planet
And blinking, step into the sun
There's more to be seen than can ever be seen
More to do than can ever be done

Some say eat or be eaten
Some say live and let live
But all are agreed as they join the stampede
You should never take more than you give

In the circle of life
It's the wheel of fortune
It's the leap of faith
It's the band of hope
Till we find our place
On the path unwinding
In the circle, the circle of life

Some of us fall by the wayside
And some of us soar to the stars
And some of us sail through our troubles
And some have to live with the scars

There's far too much to take in here
More to find than can ever be found
But the sun rolling high through the sapphire sky
Keeps great and small on the endless round in great " CIRCLE OF LIFE!!!"
