Feeling like Winnie the Pooh

Well it was a Beautiful, Windy, Blustery, day and with that kind of a Winnie the Pooh" day and nothing to do I decided to go out and hang my bird feeder.
Well , before I get into my story, pop on the picture of the bottom of the tree trunk and your see a close up of our tree squirrel that Maggie chases everyday. She has never caught it! She keeps trying. ha! Now back to my story:
Not having a limb to hang my feeder on I decided to just put a big nail into this big hole I saw on our tree and hang my feeder from it. So went and got one of Dad's big long nails and proceeded to jabbing it into the tree when felt something on my hand and pulled it out quickly and saw these three giant red ants! I shook them off "really fast" before they had a chance to bite into me. THANK GOODNESS! Then I ran to the garage and got this bug spray and went back and man did I ever spray that hole! Just then thousands of ants [giants again ] came out and I kept on spraying them. Ran and got dad cause it was unbelievable how many and wanted him to see this! He said they were carpenter ants. They eat the inside of the tree. If thats a fact and had my way that tree would go but dad said it provides shade in these hot summer days. We sprayed seemed like forever and sure a few but not many got away. Then I was going to patch up the hole but had no filler of any kind on hand so went and got my new can of white spray paint and I emptied the whole can down into that hole and around the outside. Check out my pictures!!
Wow! how did Pooh keep from being stung by those bees? and on the other hand how did I keep from being bitten up?? What a day! so hey, check in every now and then, you just never know what great adventure you might miss in the life of mamashap! ha.

A CONVERSION STORY

At our Ward Conference one of the sisters talked and told us her conversion story. It touched my heart so much that I just had to share it. She started out telling how she and her husband had met and how they both thought it time to find a church to attend since they wanted children and wanted to bring them up in the Lord. She said they started out going to this church and that searching for the one that had answers to their questions. they all had some good but they couldn't answer her questions. In fact her preacher said we hold no hope for a forever family. They eventually settled for a church that was just a block from their home. Well every week the preacher said Sister Nance are you ready to be baptised and she responded not quite yet. This went on for several months and the preacher kept reminding her that she really needed to get baptised. So after going home from church one Sunday with what the preacher had said she called him and said guess I'm ready as I'll ever be! He was happy and said lets get it done tomorrow around noon. She agreed. Monday morning she got up , did chores around the house as usual and feeling a heavy heart got down on her knees right in her living room and never having said a prayer before said ," Lord I am lost and don't know which or where I am to go. If I am to know you will have to show me." A very simple prayer. She said she got up and just as time drew near for her appo. at the church, the doorbell rang and two young men said they had a message to share with her. She welcomed them in. Yes, it was our Mormon missionaries and she said what they had told her was like nothing she had heard before and they had more to share. She felt and knew they had come at that very moment in answer to her prayer. I never made it to that appo. she said for my baptism with the minister. After missionaries left she called her preacher and said I won't be keeping the appo. , in fact, I won't be coming back at all. her story touched my heart soooo much and yes a few tears flowed, she said those missionaries had the answers to her questions she had long wondered about.
She was sincere as she spoke of her conversion and I felt it and know it was sincere and that His influence can and will be felt by anyone who is seeking for truth. Many members have had personal experiences that wistness the church is true. Myself included. mamashap

If Christ were on the earth today, He would operate and set up His church just as you see it today. Just as it was in the beginning!

A Wedding

Things I love to do

Bought this hutch from a neighbor and did a remake!

LOVE IT!!
Made my curtain and bar stools from material found at a consignment shop and its a perfect match with my paint in kitchen.

Valentines Day

Well I and dad had talked about it along time ago and guess he forgot but I had said we won't get each other stuff anymore for these kind of days and not even birthdays either. Well what does he go and do unknown , he goes out and brings home a dozen red roses and a card. One from him and one from Maggie as well. Silly man, he knows we shouldn't spend our money on frivolous things but no he did it anyway. Guess he just got a sentimental moment! ha.
Anyway here is the flowers and cards I received. I appreciate the thought but after fifty yrs. of marriage felt it just not necessary.

The thought was sweet and it did make me feel very special!

The blue bird of happiness

BE
HAPPY!

The Disease of More

Have you ever ask yourself this question, [Why?] Why can't I have this or why can't I have that, or why aren't I this or why aren't I that. these questions say" I am not enough!" in one form or another.
And that feeling is a huge contributor to
- not
experiencing happiness and joy in this life!!

I loved this and its soooo true/ this message is from Wayne Dyer/a lecturer you may have seen on tv but he is very good.
He says:

In my research and personal exploration in the pursuit of happiness , I have found that the practice of gratitude can over come feelings of "Not Enough!" Gratitude allows you to savor and enjoy what is in your present experiences. the unhappy person is always" WAITING" for something better to come along. As they can never be satisfied with the now. the belief is when I get that ( whatever it is) I will finally be happy!! it is called the "disease of more." Always remember , you are enough!!!
