Trying To Slim Down

This happened several yrs. ago but wanted to post it before I forget how funny it was. So here goes.

One afternoon Donna and I were talking about losing weight, nothing new , we often talked about it but making it happen well, that was another thing. It just wasn't happening! So after talking and talking forever it seemed , we were ready to try another plan, cabbage soup didn't work, so this time it called for desperate measures but this time it would be different.

Nothing we had done before seemed to ever work. So Donna comes over this one day and said I got it, these little pills!! Dottie! these little diet pills will help us get started! We were excited . O yes, we were on our way. She said they are supposed to really work! She said lets each take one right now and get started. So we each popped one into our mouths, envisioning these beautiful bodies we were going to have. Wow! Just thinking about it made us so excited. Looking forward from going from our old figures to looking like this! haha!

Yes, this is going to do the trick ! No more cravings, no eating junk food, no more fast foods, just take this magic pill everyday and the miracle will happen! O Yes!!

Well, it stopped our cravings all right!! that evening I had more energy than ever before! Donna went home and guess we both were like robots that evening, cleaning and picking up all evening long. I did all the little stuff around the house I had been putting off forever it seemed. It felt great! and like the little energizer bunny that just keeps on going, that was me. I thought this is wonderful to have all this energy!!

Well night came and I was still full of energy, wide eyed and thinking it's time to call it a night , BUT I'M NOT SLEEPY! Just need to stay up a little more, then I will get sleepy. Dad was asleep already, so I went and layed down and my eyes were still WIDE OPEN! I thought its ok I will be tired in a few more minutes, so I waited. One o'clock , two o'clock, three o'clock, four o'clock. Pacing the floor and trying to keep quiet and looking out the window , I was thinking will daylight never come? Now I was praying for daylight and wanting it to come soon, very soon! After being up all night finally there it was! What I had been waiting for the whole night long , LIGHT and MORNING!! I had been up ALL NIGHT! "Never" was I soooo happy to see daylight!!

As soon as Dad left the house to go to work I got on the phone and called Donna . She answered and I hardly got her name out saying DONNA and she said I KNOW !! I was awake all night too!!! She said we forgot to look at the instructions !! O my gosh, we both laughed so hard but it really wasn't funny at the time. Well that was the end of our experience with the little miracle pill .

Did we ever get those gorgeous bodies ?? Speaking for myself, I would have to say no. We were sure excited though about our new endeavor to get the pounds off. ha! We just knew we had started on the right track, both excited and dreaming about the new bodies we were going to have. Yes, lets do it!! We just were too excited to think about reading the instructions and popped those little pills into our mouth envisioning our new bodies we would be walking around with in no time at all.ha.

Well, that's the story of our experience of trying for that movie star body that we all know is short lived. ha. The body of our youth. But the truth is nothing you take from off the shelf in a drug store is going to give you that look. We all know the answer isn't in a little PILL!! It takes hard work and exercise and even then, after a certain age its gone. We do not get to grow old with it!!
Just look around and you will see what I mean. Anyway, enjoy your life and don't forget to laugh at yourself sometimes or with a friend. Its good medicine. love, mama
