A LIFE'S WORK

       I JUST READ THIS INTERESTING BOOK WITH THIS TITLE: 
     
A Life's Work   by Ben & Quinn Bradlee.

          I was thinking alot about the title of this book that i just finished reading and about this father that was so devoted to his son that had   a disability that effects every few thousand children but they do a tad better than Down Syndrome.  This father never gave up on his child.  He never made his son feel different even though he was. Its's about a bond between two guys. For them it was the woods. Ben the father said  " there is only two things that really matter in this life and its time spent together and love."   Not just during early years , teen yrs, or midlife years.  It takes a life's work!  When not working this father took his son into the Big wooded property that they owned and they worked , sometimes all day. They took down trees, cleared the land , everything you can imagine. They had bond fires and just enjoyed time together, sometimes not even saying a word but listening to nature.   Always working to improve their property, to make it better than they found it.  Quinn felt that he had aplace where he could go where he felt like somebody and useful.  The world can be a lonely place for a handicap child .  It was an amazing story of so much giving and making a young son feel that he had a place where he could go to,  where he could enjoy being himself.  The son said " when we are in the woods working together, its a totally different relationship, his father is not Ben the great editor and I am not Quinn the sick kid."  We all have labels ,  rich , poor, black, white, blond , brunette, and learning disabled is also a label.  In the woods,  nature does not care about my problems he said. .  He says i spent all of my childhood with my father.  He was my mentor , my idol. He taught me the secrets of the stars, the universe , all out in the woods. I want to be like my dad!

Gossip

   Learned a very good lesson this pass month on the subject of gossip.To repeat even one statement of gossip to another without giving it some thought can do much harm, even if its no more than a one liner, not intended to hurt another, it can go forward  and do much harm.  sad to say , it can have very sad results.

Was writing about Lindsey and looking for a picture of her and this is the one i found.     J. was in it but thats ok cause  actually love this picture of them both.


                   Here is Lindsey!  She is sweet and very quiet. I want good things for Lindsey. I want her to make good choices.  I want her to find her life's work. Something she will be happy doing.  She has gone to school for a couple of things, cooking and massage therapy.  Not sure that is her passionate  but I know she is very capable of doing lots of things.  Hang in there Lindsey and keep searching!  You will find your knack in life one day.   Some things Lindsey enjoys in life are :

                      Hairstyling
                      Keeping weight down, ha!   don't we all
                      Helping her mom around the house
                      Scary movies
                      Riding her bike around her neighborhood
                       Swimming
                        Dating/ pick only the good ones Lindsey

She and her mother are coming up this week to spend a couple days with us.  Hope to get some pictures of her to add to my post.

               Love this picture of Kristen and Maggie!  Seems as if they are both in deep thought thinking "what does the  future hold for me?" ha.  Love these girls!

Stacey, Steve, and Aidan

        I love this picture of the Bray family.  Stacey is happy and little Aidan gets along great with  Steve.  What more can you ask for.   Happiness to you all and a long and happy life together!

Well guys , its that time of year again.  Hurricane season! I was thinking where would i want to live where there is no worry of weather? Getting wind and Rain but actually enjoying it for now, don't miss the HEAT!

Every state known for something! what about floods, valcanoes,cyclones, Tsumamis and tornadoes.Yik!

Super Saturday

    Well i took tons of pictures at our Relief Society get together on Sat.and got home and was posting this shot and working with computer and accidently deleted them all.  Wanted to cry! Know better next time. SO THIS THE ONE I MADE  FOLKS!  Dad wasn't helping me feel better.  Saying I need to learn the computer better. ugh!  Will  try to get picture of just a few of the things we made that day and post them later.          STRESS!!  ugh.

Boys/ growing up

I miss my grandkids and watching them grow up.  Want to have them spend overnights with grandma and take them to the park and just be in their lives. Time is passing fast and its sad when you don't live close so you can have all the time you want with them.  Here is some snapshots of my little guys.  Got another new one joining us in six months or so.  I can't wait!














            

A BABY IS COMING / HOW WONDERFUL!

        SO EXCITED !  YES, TODD & HEATHER ARE EXPECTING A BABY! I LOVE  BABIES! THEY ARE SWEET AND SO ADORABLE !!  I HAVE A SAYING THAT HANGS ON OUR WALL WHICH SAYS  " BABIES ARE  GOD'S WAY OF SAYING THE WORLD SHOULD GO ON"  O SO TRUE!   HE OR SHE WILL BRING SO MUCH LOVE AND HAPPINESS TO THEIR FAMILY AND YES, TO US ALL!  CONGRATULATIONS GUYS!!




   

Seven Dwarfs

When see this picture I often think of my seven kids.  It kind of reminds me how they are so different and yet I remember how much they enjoyed each other when they were young and worked,  played, and stuck together.  Everyone of them were different then and it was ok!
