From My Jenny

I just love this card from Jenny! Jen thinks of the coolest ideas to put a smile on your face.   In this card she sent me she put me as Dorothy , Stacey as the lion, can you guess why? do the curls give you a clue, ha. and  Leslie as the scarecrow and herself as the tin man. Guess we all would like something from the Great Wizard of Oz!  ha.  Just so cute!  I got the happiest feeling when received this in the mail! tks. Jen. I love this movie too!

Gifts from Todd

Todd gave these three things to me some time back.  The lady head figure was once a brooch and i never wore it much so decided to use it as a decoration for my towel rack.  Love it!    The poem with rose at top was another gift to me / he is so good at writing poems and  will cherish it forever. The little teapot saying was another gift , actually all were birthday gifts from him some time back.   Thank you Todd.  I will  keep them always !

Growing old with dogs

Dad certainly fits this saying!  this was a reading written by an Anonymous person.  I revised it to fit dad.

When i grow old i will wear OLD comfortable clothes and spend my social security check on MOUNTAIN SPLASH and MY DOG.  I will sit in my BIG recliner watching the history channel or listening to my favorite music, or just watching the old movies of yesterday that i enjoy so much.  When people come to visit i will smile and nod and show them my dog. I will clean up after her, feed her, whatever it takes and whisper her name in a soft loving way.   I will wear my old clothes like a jewel and will be an embarrassment to my wife and perhaps even my family who have not yet found the peace of being free and to have a dog as their best friend. My dog,a friend who always waits at any hour to have me greet her and jumps to her feet out of a sound sleep to greet you when you come home as if you are a long lost friend.  With their warm eyes full of adoring love and with hope that you will always stay.  I'll hug their neck , kiss their dear sweet head and whisper to them in their own very special company.  I look in the mirror and i see i am getting old ... and think this is the kind of person i am and this is who i have always been...and my dog accepts me as I am.  Dogs appreciates your presence in their lives.
Now that i am old...older, this is important to me. You will understand when you are old.  Loving a dog is easy.   .... if you are lucky enough to have a dog to love.If so you will understand!

Making a Quilt

Well for about four days i been working on making this quilt.  Started out with a lady at church who was willing to help me. I really did appreciate Sister Fisher taking the time out of her busy schedule to help me get started especially since she is moving soon.   After running into a few loop holes, and she having to get ready to move north,  I went and ask Frankie if she would come and give me some pointers which she was more than willing to do.  So for the pass week, Frankie came over for maybe three afternoons  and we have enjoyed talking and eating lunch together while working on my project.  Tks. Frankie! So here it is at the top of page. With any luck we should be done here in a couple more days, well i am hoping. ha.  Its been on my bucket list for along time now and even though its been a challenge and cost more than i wanted to spend on it I am still excited  and its giving me a sense of accompliment!  Frankie has stayed by my side giving me instructions as i sew, sew, and sew!  Teaching me the skills I need to know to do a better job next time. ha.    Not perfect by any means but it is my first.  If ever do this again for sure I have learned alot!  main thing to get every cut just right.   the cutting is the KEY!!   (not sure i will ever do one again)ha.  but soon I can erase this from my bucket list!) ha.

TWO OLD MEN

These two old men meet same time nearly everyday to chat and bring their dogs together.  Maggie knows the minute they arrive. She gets so excited.  I think dad really looks forward to this daily routine.   I think this is for sure a sign of old age. I think dad enjoys being old.  ha!

Poodle skirt days

Jenny , Stacey and Leslie in the poodle skirts i made them.

Made these skirts for my girls and think they really enjoyed them.  Oh they were the cutest little gals!!
Here is picture of a few things i grew up with in the fifties.
