Upholstering a chair , Maybe??

Picked up this Wing Back Chair , solid wood and for only $10 dollars.  I have always wanted one in a country pattern so thought here is my chance.  They are pretty expensive at the stores.  Gave about 40 dollars for the material on sale and thought what do I have to lose, could never afford to buy one.   So here is what it looks like now and will show finish produce down the road, will take some time.   check back!

Well had to stop again, ran out of material ,  goofed  on part of the repair already , this is not easy,  not sure want to share the finish look.ha. . ugh.  Maggie loves this chair, she curls up in it already to take her naps so guess all is not wasted.ha. If  it doesn't turn out just right i will keep it anyway and let Maggie continue to use it for her naps. ha.  Now i  know why uphostery people charge so much. ugh.

Keeping Busy

Well , dad and I are trying to keep busy in our older years.  He has made our sunroom into  an office and starting to put windows in, also helps out the folks around the neighborhood doing odd jobs for the widows and putters in the garage. He also keeps busy with his church calling.
My interest is in trying to make a quilt, reupholster a chair ,  finding time to read , and walking some everyday to lose this weight. I also have a church calling.
Funny thing about retirement and old age, you find you have all this time on your hands, a long list of " To Do" things but then making the list and doing them are two different things.   We tend to just want to do what we want to do most days! And some days you find you may not want to do anything at all! haha!
I do enjoy  getting out of the house every now and then and visit with people or just walk around the various stores. Sometimes I like  to seek out new places that I haven't been and check them out.

We have a small house here on douglas st. and really it doesn't take too much work keeping it up so I am always getting done fast and out the door.  But whatever , dad and I our both filling our days, hours, and minutes with the  things we enjoy doing the most! thats RETIREMENT! But I do often wish all the kids lived near by and could drop in and say hi .
